After the girls decorated gingerbread houses with our babysitter over the weekend, we ended up with bags of peppermints, gum drops and red licorice. We discovered by accident that the purple gumdrops are black licorice in disguise, and they were about to go in the trash when we had the idea to give one to Ava to see what she would do. Let me just say this was not the response I was expecting......
I LOVE LOVE LOVE black licorice!!! Can't tell you why though...I just do. It's YUMMY. There's not a whole lot of stuff I don't like though. Rice is one thing I DETEST! Will not eat it at all...not even a single grain. Now how weird is that??
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way Ava does about black licorice! Can't tell you why!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! She is doing so well! She is amazing! I like black licorice in small doses, I have no clue why no one else in my family does. Maybe because I'm adopted too?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWow, people read your blog at 3 in the morning! I guess Ava didn't get the black licorice taste from our family.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean we can pick out all our purple gum drops and wrap them up for her for Christmas?
That is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAva's Uncle Tom loves black licorice - they will have to share a bag together sometime.
ReplyDeleteAunt Peg
I don't like black licorice, only red. It tastes awful, but that is only my opinion. Another thing she might like is fennel, it is a vegetable that has a licorice taste. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteI love black licorice too!!! I seriously thought I was the only one; glad to hear there are others!!
ReplyDeleteBlack licorice is nasty, but Ava is doing amazing! Look at all her signing! And she's chewing GUMDROPS???!! WOW! She is doing so amazingly, Charissa, what a blessing to see her flourishing so much in you all's care. I can tell her siblings don't like to spoil her either ;) Thanks for the video!
ReplyDeleteLicorice is supposed to be good for preventing migraines, so obviously Ava is onto something! This would make a great commercial for licorice gumdrops - such enthusiasm!
ReplyDeleteBut which big brother is swiping Miss Ava's gumdrops near the end of this video?? I hope he gave them back...:-)!
Susan in Ky
Susan,
ReplyDeleteActually it was neither big brother swiping the gumdrops. It was the dad, who wanted to make sure they were cut into little pieces before she popped them into her mouth. :)
I LOVE black licorice! No one else in my family does though. Another favorite is Good and Plenty, remember that?
ReplyDeleteAmy
Can't say anyone here likes black licorice but that video is precious :)
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love black licorice, I love the double salty kind you get in Holland. Why? I am from Holland LOL.
ReplyDeleteGreat now I am craving salty black licorice.
Ok, I kept watching different videos of Ava and ended up at the one your bil did. Thank you Jesus for bringing Ava to your home! I'm so thankful still to you guys for loving that little girl.
ReplyDeleteI don't like black licorice either! My mother loves the stuff. YEUCK! LOL Ava is doing so wonderful Charissa!
ReplyDeleteI love black licorice! It tastes really yummy... I don't know why though. :) I just like it. My mom likes it too.
ReplyDeleteAva is so cute! She eats it like I do... shove it in your mouth and ask for more! :D
I love that video! I do not feel the same way as Ava about black licorice, though! Yuck! She reminds me a lot of my Darah!
