Who is your Valentine?

I want to do a Valentine's fundraiser for one of the waiting kids listed on Reece's Rainbow, but there are so many deserving children I'm having a hard time narrowing it down to just one.

So here's what I want to do.

I am going let you all help me choose one. Please leave a comment with the name of whichever Reece's Rainbow child has captured your heart and tell why you think he or she is deserving of a little help finding a family. Exactly one week from today I'm going to randomly pick one of the suggested children. Fundraising details will follow.

Click here to see the children in need of families!

And can someone tell me how to do the random name draw thingy? I've never done that before.

Charissa how are you all doing? It is hard to choose and my heart is on Nikita and I am sticking with him until he is home with his forever family BUT have you seen
Carter # 653 he is just too cute. Good luck on your fundraising HUGS Tammy

I'm like you. I cannot decide. The one I constantly go back to is Bobby (older boy). I think it's because I envision that is how Sawyer will look when he is older. I cannot stand the thought of Sawyer being without a family, nor can I stand that for Bobby.

Good luck on your fund raiser.

Hi~ my vote is for Edwin #9, he is in critical need of a family. His orphanage is one of the poorer ones with little outside help and the children get transferred on their 4th birthday, which for Edwin is in about 5 months. He cannot be adopted out of the institution, and he will surely die there. He has Goldenhar Syndrome, severe hydrochephaly, among other health issues, but I am confident that the love of a family and some medical care will do WONDERS for this little guy.
If he is not adopted soon, or atleast have a committed family soon, he has NO future. He will continue to suffer, and he will die. Please take a look at him, he has the sweetest little face! He looks like he is very much still a baby, and probably cannot do much now due to his severe hydrocephaly. The pressure in his head must feel terrible. But his potential is limitless, what a wonderful son he would be.

Thanks,
jodi

Anastasiya F. from Russia. She is SO cute. Or Brandon, from older boys. He has been listed for SO long. Or Daniel from Older boys.

Or Sarah (not Sara) from other angels. I don't think anyone even knows she is there!! But she is SO sweet.

I am going to vote for Mason (31) from the other angels. He's adorable and has so much potential but I think he goes unnoticed by many. He only has $27 in his grant and needs more. Someone please go get him and bring him home!

I'm voting for Sofia (2) since I have fallen in love with her. I am waiting on my husband to make a decision to move forward with her adoption. Money is a concern of course so the more we are able to raise for her fund the better and easier it will be for us (or someone else) to adopt her. Thank you for doing this! Just amazing!

Well, there are several who have caught my eye, but I think it would be good to go for someone that does not already have someone fundraising for them...and someone who is close to being transferred. Mara on other angels is very close to being transferred to a home for older girls..which really is not the best for her considering she is still so little. I think she would be an excellent choice for a fundraiser because she needs a family now!

Are you doing the Valentine's fundraiser for the older "other angels" as specified on the site of any of all of the waiting children?

Ivy 31

Don't know why but when i first saw her picture I wanted to scoop her and love on her. She looks really sweet.

Karen and Kristie on the Siblings page. They get no attention and I know that Kristie has had the opportunity for adoption but no one also wants to take Karen because of her arm... They sound like the nicest girls!!!

My other choice would be sweet Mara, with Apert Syndrome.

Jennifer,
Any of the kids on RR are eligible. Sorry, I should have specified.

Anastasia in the pink dress with CP. I can just see her swimming and walking upright with therapy.

Thats wonderful! WE vote for Victor in other angels. He is already 4 and hardly has $25.00 in his account :(
He is sooo cute!

I vote for Owen. Of all the children in the RR world, his face is the one that haunts me the most because it is so...resigned. In his eyes I see an overwhelming desire to both give and receive love. Without medical intervention, Owen won't survive to be transferred to a long term facility and find out if he is in a rich/poor one. He'll have gone to join our heavenly Father long before then. While being with our Lord is the most wonderful place to be, Owen deserves to be held in the arms of his earthly mother and family before going home to God.

Thank you so much for your efforts and considering Owen.

My vote is for Danil in Orphanage 17 in Ukraine. My niece is his prayer warrior, and his little face is forever etched into my mind.

I love how you haven chosen to pick a child. This way everyone has to go look through all of those little faces. Who knows, maybe this process will bring one of these little ones their family!

Maxim in orphanage #7. He has the sweetest most pitiful face! No one that I know of is advocating for him. My heart nearly broke in two this time last year when I found that he had been transferred to the institution.

Oh, no problem! Well, I don't know if they are still doing individual grants for the older children, but I'm in love with Corinna!

I'm sure you won't be surprised when I suggest Vera (19 - other angels) :)

I'm not sure if I looked in the right spot but I loved Nellie and Timothy. They were in the 2-5 yr range. Timothy since that is my husband's name and Nellie because she was precious. Good luck deciding.

A little girl named Melissa in the 3-5 year old age section, because she's not smiling in the picture and I don't want her to have less of a chance because of that :(

Charissa: I would like to elect Carter (#653) or Jacob (#840). Neither of these little men has any funds in their account. Carter is older than Jacob by more than one year, so I think his need is more urgent. Additionally, he is the only one of the children I read about who battles Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, too. It concerns me that may make placement for him even more difficult.

Whomever is selected, I wish the best for all these little ones who are the "least of us". They certainly have a place right next to God's heart.

Mara---you have already stated her needs. so much has already been done to help her advance why leave a job unfinished? its like preparing dinner and never cooking or serving it. rita from georgia

Anya (16) from the Other Angels.

Sweet Anya will be 2 next Thursday (1/28) and what a better birthday gift to give her but the gift of a forever family!
Without the medical attention that she needs for her
arthrogryposis, she will spend what little time she has lying on a bed, never being able to use her limbs.

Thank you for what you are doing and for considering
Anya!

Dimitry - other angels-

Because being trapped in a life of darkness on the inside and the outside is heartbreaking. Someone needs to help him "see" the love in this world adn the love of God in his little life!

Sandra and Slavka. They are such little cuties, and Slavka (on the right) looks so much like my Iza. The description of them (non-verbal, seizures) is spot on Iza too. They are even the same age, born in the same month and year. Can't believe they have been listed for so long :(

I would choose Jason. He is an older other angel. He has spina bifida, like Alex, the boy The Reed's adopted last year.

Yuri, in the older "other angels" section has SUCH a cute smile--I bet it could melt a thousand hearts, but not in an institution it won't
