You know you're a homeschool mom when.......

You get really excited when your kids come home with owl poop! And you get your camera out and take pictures before and after dissecting it to see what the owl ate. I think it was a little mouse. Don't you think?

I think the hair is too long for a mouse. I'm thinking baby rabbit.

THE OWL ATE A QUARTER?

I love doing Owl pellets! Did you find this one? We have always ordered ours. We never had as much fur as you have there!

Excellent fun!

Beth, Yes, they found it!! They brought it in and asked what it was. I wouldn't have recognized it except I had looked into ordering one! I knew I wasn't the only homeschool mom who gets into these things!

Owls freak me out. Did you buy some bubble gum with the quarter and chew it, thinking "I'm chewing this gum because of owl poop."

That always happens to me when I find a quarter in owl poop and then eat gum. It sicks me out. Just like Zips Tennis Shoes.

Or maybe you just took a pic of a quarter by the bones just to show us how tiny mice fingers and toes are?

Ok, seriously that was gross; but interesting at the same time. And, is it a requirement of being a homeschool mom to order owl poop? Because, I may change my mind about doing it next year if that is the case. lol.

I love hands-on learning, but that takes it to a whole other level.

I bet the owl felt great after passing that sucker. He was probably constipated for a while.

It's actually not poop. Owls eat their prey and then regurgitate a pellet of the stuff they can't digest.

Owl poop is WHITE...at least when I was in school, something about their flight they can't have a long digestion track, and they get rid of weight fast so they can wing it better. You have something else that you are foolin' with.
