Thank you!

I'd like to thank whichever one of you clever blog readers suggested turning footy pajamas zipper-backwards to prevent all kinds of Down-Syndrome-mischief between bedtime and morning. It is working like a charm! No more morning surprises! Thankfully these two haven't figured out that they could easily help each other out of their PJs, even if they can't unzip their own. Shhh....Let's keep it that way, shall we?

Ha Ha! That looks familiar! My girls spend most of their time in backwards footy pjs :).

What an adorable style! Love that Ds mischief because it's all at your house. My Ds son is truly an angel.:)

When my son was younger and had a "Mickey" button, he was on a slow formula drip overnight. We had to keep him from unzipping his footies too...I just used a safety pin, and slid it through the small hole at the end of the zipper "tab", then attached it to the pj's. Took him awhile to develop the fine motor skills to get out of that! In fact I think he outgrew footed pj's before he ever developed the skill! :) Maybe if those two cuites figure out how to help each other "escape" from their backwards pj's, you can use the safety pin option. This may be a silly question, but how do you put "footie" pj's on backwards anyway? Aren't the feet pointing the wrong way?

I am sitting here totally grinning from ear to ear!! I can see it in their faces and their expression they know they are going to get out of them, they just don't know how....yet LOL

I think we should make a friendly wager on when they will figure out they can 'help' each other. My guess is this weekend LOL!!!!

Amazing the rest that comes with those silly pjs! The first night we put Jonas in pjs backwards was the best night sleep my hubby and I had in months. We had been constantly "on the alert" for an indication that a "situation" was brewing for longer than we cared to remember. He wears them every night and at nap time too. Jonas got two new pair for Christmas. I cut the feet off of brand new pajamas and felt DARN good doing it! Silly things changed our life!

Very funny. I'm waiting for that day...I suspect it won't be long.

Hahahaha!! Too funny :) When my daughter was about a year and a half old, she would take off her diaper in bed and 'paint' EVERYTHING within reach with her... 'number 2'. EEEK!! So I put her diaper on backwards and all the 'painting' stopped. Thank goodness! She couldn't figure out how to pull the tabs off while backward. Phew! :)

Christina- Yeah you're right the feet are a slight problem but we just twist them backwards too!

You twist your kid's feet backwards????? I know kids with DS are flexible but wow!!! ;)

So did AVA pick up bad habits from Joseph or vice versa?

I used the diaper pin at the top of the zipper (just under the tab of the zipper) to keep the zippers up. We never had a bad problem since Sawyer's fine motor skills were (are still)so bad.

Haha Jan......I miss you! I thought about the safety pin thing. Ava couldn't get one off for sure but I am pretty certain Joseph would have it off and stabbing something with it within a microsecond!

Very cute!

You mean you really don't like the artwork of painting with poop?!!

I SO remember those days. Glad the footie-less PJ's backwards works.

Ha ha! I remember those days! And just in case, the next step in thwarting Ds mischief is duct tape around the top of the diaper...

Glad you found a solution.

In the summer so that the pjs aren't as warm you can use body suits over shorts so they can't get their hands down the sides. essentialwhites.com sells onesies up to 6t.

Those faces don't look mischievous to me! ;)

Honestly, they are both absolutely adorable.
