That's the sweetest picture! I totally feel for you. They had to put down Molly shortly after I came here. I can't imagine going home and not having her there!

Hi Charissa,

Your posts are so entertaining! My name is Erin, and I am a college student with mild cerebral palsy. I’m a special education major and have hopes of becoming a disability services director of a university after graduate school. I have just launched a blog that is still getting started, but with the title “Empowering People and Changing Lives,” I hope that it will provide a wealth of resources for people who care for children, specifically those who are affected by disability. I will also be chronicling some personal experiences and will be sharing some thoughts about those along the way. Your blog has also been included in my blogroll, so I hope that together, we are able to collaborate to provide resources to those who are in similar situations. The blog’s address is http://empowerpeoplechangelives.blogspot.com. From there, you will be able to read the posts I have written, find out all about me, check out my blogroll, eventually look at many resources I have gathered, and contact me.

Look forward to reading many more of your posts! Happy blogging!

Ok, I am tearing up over here. That is the saddest picture, I have seen in a long time. That breaks my heart. Animals do grieve and miss their pals. Cloe misses Beau when he goes to the groomers and isn't home for a few hours. How sad when one doesn't ever come back home. Ok, now I'm really crying. Thanks. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sad. I'm sorry Charissa.

What a touching photo! My three other dogs seemed to take Nala's absence quite well (except Miko, her longest companion - he spent two whole days waiting for her at the front door); however, it took over three weeks before any of them would eat the food in her bowl. Being the alpha dog counts for something, I guess.

They wrap themselves right around our hearts, our dear animal companions...

I am so sorry, but am glad you and Bliss had so many wonderful years together. The memories of those happy times will be bittersweet, no doubt, but Bliss had a great life with you all.

I haven't read all the comments over these last few days, but hope you'll take a look online for the "Rainbow Bridge" story. I found it very comforting when my sweet Shadow-Cat "crossed the bridge" at age seventeen a couple of years ago...

Thinking of you,
