I pulled my big black coat out of the attic a couple of days ago, and in the pocket I found my knitted Ukrainian stocking cap. Those two things, plus the cold weather and the smell of Blackberry Amber body lotion from Bath and Body Works, are all making me feel extremely nostalgic. I am missing Ukraine terribly! How about walking down memory lane with me.....
And here is a fond memory......

AWWWW! I remember the licking! That was too cute..Look at how far along she has come! Man, God is SO good!
wow!! she is doing SO well :)
what great memories...it's good to see such progress, and to remember the time when you saw her sweet face for the first time, and we did too...
Wow!!What great memories! And look how much she has grown in so many ways.

Awwww....I remember seeing all of that. She has changed so much and come so far.
That precious little blue dot girl!
That is crazy! I can't believe it's almost been a year! She has blossomed so much. I love you sweet Ava!
My how far you've come!! What a little blessing!
She is hardly recognizable, she has changed soooooo much. Thanks for sharing your memories. Love the hats, by the way.
How very sweet. I know exactly what you mean. We only spent 3 weeks in Ukraine adopting our boys 7 years ago and I still get that feeling.
Hey Charissa, I wanna pick your brain about something... :) I know that you use Bible based homeschool materials but do you know of a good curriculum that is not bible based, that maybe someone you know uses??
Wow! The change in Ava is absolutely stunning!
:)

Oh my goodness how she has changed :) I woke up every morning while you were in Ukraine to read your blog....thank you so much for letting me follow your journey - Ava is just beautiful.
Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since you originally posted those pictures. I remember how excited I was to read every update. She has certainly grown and changed!!!!
I can't say that I'm at the point where I miss Ukraine...I don't know if I ever will be. I'm still just thrilled to be back in the USA.
Gotta agree with Lisa - not ready to get on the next plane back to Russia. I enjoyed the remembering as well - had so enjoyed your journey the first time and have really enjoyed Ava's great progress!
Amazing - especially when you compare those photos to the ones where she is talking on the "phone" and making a cubby for herself. A miracle. A new life given to that gorgeous girl Rachel
