Monday night tea party

John took the boys on Monday night to my uncle's house to watch Monday night football, and left us girls at home. We were all feeling a bit lonely, so I suggested we have our own little tea party "or something", then I went to put Ava down for the night.

I came out of the kitchen to see this:
I freaked out a little and raised my voice, "What are you doing???!!!"
"Mom, I'm making a tea party for us. It's a party so we have to wear our fancy dresses. You need to wear one too."

She was a wonderful little hostess, pouring milk in every cup, "because tea is NASTY".......
.......then mixing chocolate syrup in each one. I asked why she made four cups instead of three, and she resonded, "I'm saving this one for Ava for when she grows up."

I was a little sad that Liesel felt that she was too big to put on a fancy dress, and chose to wear her pajamas instead. And she actually had hot tea in her tea cup. After all, it was a tea party.

I agree, tea is nasty. Maybe there should be coffee parties instead! Hope looked very pretty in her fancy dress. Did you don one yourself?

I wonder why she thinks tea is "nasty"? Couldn't have been the tea party we had at my house, because I serve great tea!

Oh, LETS do that the next time we have a girls' day.  We can put on old bridesmaid dresses (I have a lovely gold-colored one that's about 3 sizes too small from 1995), then we could stand on your countertops and select the drink of our choosing....Hope, you're inspiring!

The picture of Hope on the counter reaching for tea cups, totally reminded me of Annie-Grace. I have memories of her and Lucy doing the same thing!
I agree w/ Jennifer, lets wear old wedding dresses....and have a tea party; oh yea, mine is really 4 sizes too small b/c petite Jen wore it last:)
